Come As You Are
”Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
Today's post is simple, but probably one of the most important I'll ever make. If you have not been told yet today, then let me be the first- You. Are. Worthy. You are valued. You are loved. You are important. You can never stray so far that you can't come home. You can never be so dirty that you can't be washed clean. Are you tired of running? Are you tired of being broken? Are you tired of feeling unclean and worn down and unworthy? Come home my friend. Return to the Father my prodigal sons and daughters. He is waiting at the door with His arms wide open. Come as you are. Don't wait to come once you have it altogether. You never will.
I know sometimes "church people" are intimidating. They seem to "have it all together." I promise you, they do not. Church is for the dirty, broken hearted people. It's for those of us who are running and weary. We are all sinners and we all fall short. We are not perfect but we love the One who is. Come as you are. Let Him wash you clean and renew you. Find rest in Him and stop running my dear wanderer. If you don't have a church home and live near, please join us at Boeuf River Baptist Church. You have a seat beside me. I love you all and pray you have a great week.
